2018-2019 Classwork - Painting and Sculpture

My favorite works from a painting and sculpture course I took from 2018 to 2019. It was my first time using any shop tools or using oil paint, and I learned a lot!

One of the first times I'd ever painted with oil paint. I love it in comparison to acrylic, but its much messier. Oil paint on canvas with an acrylic underpainting.

A series of three paintings based on different sources of light: Headlights on a road, lights across the water, and a street lamp. Painted with acrylic on paper.

A painting of a series of man-eating birds, based on a brief nightmare I'd had. Oil paint on canvas.

A sculpture I'd made while trying to abstract and simplify the body. Wood, house paint, with a metal rod for the stomach.
