Francesca D’Angelo is a concept artist who produces work heavily based in character and clothing design. She graduated from St. Mary’s College of Maryland in 2021, studying art and art history. Working in several mediums, chiefly digital and traditional painting, her designs are characterized by exaggerated silhouettes based on popular shows, games, and fashion. She collects images of clothing from runways for inspiration in her designs, whether it be the particular shape of a coat or an embroidered detail that is turned into a centerpiece. Her characters have been described as 'gender-defying'. Because of its base in popular media, a lot of her work has to do with character tropes, creating the heroes, sidekicks, and villains of her own made up worlds, though any tropes used are often stretched and manipulated to give them a twist.
